Yesterday, we celebrated the Earth Hour. As concerned Kada-citizens, how would you ensure that you contribute, may it be on a very minimal or grand effort, in making our world a better and GREENER place?
Hi, I’m Sean, and I’ve been a vegetarian for over three years! This lifestyle shift has allowed me to reduce my carbon footprint and embrace a more sustainable way of eating. I also strive to help others understand and cook their veggies, so they can not only enjoy them but also contribute to a healthier planet. ‍:brown_square:
Starting with small actions like buying sustainable items like ukay, avoiding food waste, conserving water and electricity and following the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle is a good approach. As a student, our resources may be limited, kaya we can start with small but meaningful actions. Over time these small steps grow into something greater that has lasting impact.
Embrace minimalism. Minimalism is about owning fewer things that bring real joy and focusing on experiences and relationships for lasting happiness rather than seeking it from material possessions. Adventures and fellowship will beat possessions every time. Materials things fade, but memories last forever. Yes, may forever.
Taking small steps, can make huge differences.
As a person who is constantly at home, I make sure to unplug our appliances when not in use since it still accumulate electric use. I also plant trees and flowers to help with the air which is not only helpful for earth but also for humans. These small steps might be what most of us are doing but the more people conserve, the bigger impact it reserves.
Majority of my clothes and shoes are thrifted and I donate my old clothes to others, which helps in reducing the clothes that turn to waste and just occupy landfills.
For me, saving electricity, water and less buying of plastics products like I will using eco bags than plastic bags whenever I go market, also decluttering unnecessary stuff.
To me, by practice, I really try to consume less. Instead of immediately buying new things, I try to check out first whether I already have something similar I can reuse. I also prioritize longevity of the things I buy so I usually don’t have the habit of constantly buying new things.
Since childhood, I really love planting. Now, we have a garden where I’m growing bamboo.
In my workplace actually, we have the no-plastic rule. So I haven’t been using any plastic bottles or the such ever since I got in and just started getting used to reusing paper bags and tupperwares to office and bringing my big waterbottle around.
This helps alot with lessening all the waste especially in the office
Hey there! Vlad here. I do these three things in making our world a better and greener place:
- I use stainless steel tumbler instead of a plastic bottle
- I use tupperwares instead of buying disposable containers+
- I also save electricity and water while I’m at home
As a college student, I take almost all my notes digitally. Really helps save paper and minimize my solid waste!
yes!! consume responsibly and lessen budol tendencies
For me, I’m more mindful with my purchases, especially with my clothes! Instead of buying new clothes (counted rin ang ukay-ukay), I find new ways to style my clothes :> either through layering, combining different clothes, tweaking some parts of the clothing pieces, or accessorizing! Reviewing my wardrobe helps a lot in managing my storage and finances because I can find my clothes more efficiently and rediscover some pieces of clothing that I had planned to buy/have already something similar. Let’s go recycle our clothes and give them a new life!
Staring contest with the sky, the plants, and the cats invading our backyard!!
I try repurposing things and do my best to be resourceful with what I already have I also do my best to conserve energy by unplugging devices when not in use.
We are also encouraged in our college to avoid use of single-use plastics, so I usually bring my own container and tumbler.
Everything starts with something small! For me, I always make sure to dispose of my waste properly. I’ll hold on to it no matter what—hanggang makakita ako ng trash bin . It’s a habit that my friends and I have grown to practice!
HI, I am Sha and I think that we, as Kada-citizens, can make a real difference by doing simple things every day—like turning off unused lights, carrying a reusable water bottle, and separating our trash properly. But we can also think bigger—maybe organize a simple neighborhood cleanup, plant some trees, or push for bike lanes in our city. The key is that we all do what we can, because even small actions add up when we work together
I do my best to communicate why I care and inspire others to think and do differently. :>
