KadaAsk: What’s the one thing you wish was normalized for women in the workplace?

We’re curious if you think some things like power naps, saying ‘no’ without guilt, or taking off heels under the desk should be more common around for women? Let’s hear it! :raised_hands:t3:

One thing I wish was fully normalized for women in the workplace is setting boundaries without fear of judgment—whether it’s saying no to extra work beyond their role, leaving on time without guilt, or advocating for their needs (like fair pay, promotions, or even just uninterrupted focus time).

Too often, women feel pressure to overextend themselves to be seen as “team players” or “likable,” while the same behavior in men is just expected professionalism. Normalizing strong boundaries would create a more balanced, respectful work culture for everyone.

Embracing femininity without it affecting how your competence is perceived. Usually women are pressured to mask their femininity in order to be taken “seriously” when it should be embraced. We can also be allies to each other and embrace all forms on how women present ourselves

I wish women could be direct and assertive at work without being labeled as “bossy” or “difficult.” Men do it, and it’s called leadership. Women shouldn’t have to soften their words just to be taken seriously.

I agree with Dana. I hope the workplace is more accepting of feminine approach rather forcing a certain way of action. I personally think there is no gender when it comes to ideas and how it is implemented, whoever can do it should do it. Also, women bosses who embraces their femineity is such a slay :nail_care:

Taking menstrual leaves: For many women, symptoms due to periods can be severe and may hinder them from working optimally. Workplaces should be more supportive about this to reduce stigma and guilt :heart_hands:
