Let’s be real: sometimes it’s not the big deadlines or the long hours that drain us…
It’s the little things na hindi napapansin pero ramdam mo araw-araw:
Yung kailangan laging “cheerful” kahit gusto mo lang magpahinga
Yung feeling na kailangan magreply agad para ‘di ka mapag-initan
Or pretending you’re totally okay — kasi baka isipin “ma-drama” ka
These are the silent energy vampires.
So let’s name them. Let’s talk about them.
Because the more we speak up, the less power these invisible pressures have.
What’s your silent stressor?
Fragmented work! The uncontrolled and sudden meetings can really drain my energy. Especially when I need to do focus work
Hello, Kada!
For me, it would be being forced/pressured to join out-of-work activities/ gatherings/ parties even though I already said no or gave a valid reason. I go out and meet with friends, but not all the time. I do not spend most of my day outside and mingling because it quickly drains my energy. I need time to be alone and enjoy that sense of peace.
Sana maintindihan ng ibang tao na hindi lahat ng tumatanggi ay ayaw na sa inyo o walang social life. We are different from one another, we have different versions of having fun. Some choose to do it in a mundane and simple way and some choose to do it “with a bang”.
Glad that we really have the chance to openly discuss topics like this. For me, it’s the pressure to always appear busy. Sometimes, we think that working long hours is okay, but that shouldn’t be the case. It should be about how productive we are in our workplaces. And then there’s the idea that we don’t need rest. Rest is essential for us to function properly din. Tulog is lifeuuu!
